No. Elfinwild Farms is currently just a marketing name.
Our property is located on a former farmland from the early 1900s…
now named Elfinwild Road.
Where do you get your meat?

We deal directly with local wholesalers that carry Angus Beef.
What is the quality of your meat?

We only use certified USDA Prime or Upper Choice Angus, Non-GMO beef.
Do you make jerky with venison (deer) or other exotic meats?

No. We focus 100% on beef jerky.
Specifically, we only use the Inside (Top) Round as well.
What method(s) do you use to tenderize your meat?

Vinegar, Salt & Time.
Absolutely, NO scientific chemicals are used in our jerky.
It takes longer but produces a better final product.
What method(s) do you use to dry your jerky?

We use heated dehydrators instead of smoking our jerky because it provides a more consistent final product.
We are experimenting with smoking our jerky after it’s dehydrated though, more to come there.
How long does it take to make our jerky?

Each batch takes a total of 4 days start to finish. Or as we say knife to mouth.
We can’t give away all the secrets to our process which includes things like marinade and drying times.
Do you follow FDA guidelines when it comes to processing time/temperature?

Yes. We meet or exceed all FDA minimum requirements when it comes to processing and storing temperatures.
Do you use MSG or Soy products?

Absolutely not.
Except our Teriyaki Recipe which has a small amount of soy sauce in the marinade.
Is your jerky Gluten free / Sugar free?

Yes. Absolutely NO, sugars, glucose, sucrose, syrups, sweeteners or honey.
Except our Teriyaki recipe which has a small amount of soy sauce & pineapple juice in the marinade.
Also the Smokey Barbecue will have a small amount of gluten in the barbecue sauce we put in the marinade.
How long is your jerky good and how do you recommended storing it.

Treat your jerky, like your best friend. Don’t leave it in the car in the sun!
Jerky should be stored in a sealed container preferably airtight. It should be kept out of extreme hot or cold as well as direct sunlight. If unopen our jerky should stay fresh for a year or longer if stored properly.
